Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
An Experience Unlike Any Other!
My family and I went to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament this week in Toronto, and it was truly an experience unlike any other. From the moment we stepped into the castle, we were transported back to the 11th century. The atmosphere was incredible—it felt like stepping into a different time, filled with the sights, sounds, and spirit of medieval life.
The venue itself is located in Toronto’s Exhibition Place, inside a beautiful historic building that dates back to 1912. Before the show began, we had so much fun exploring the castle. Walking through the grand halls lined with suits of armour, gazing up at massive iron chandeliers, and discovering treasures tucked into every corner truly added to the magic. My nephews were especially excited about the souvenir shop where they each picked out their own sword to take home, which made for a great keepsake from an unforgettable day.
Before entering the arena, we were each given a crown representing our knight's colour, which added an exciting team spirit to the night. We were cheering for the Black and White Knight, who gave a fantastic performance throughout the tournament. It really made the event feel interactive and personal. Watching the battles, the horsemanship, and the falconry display made us all feel like part of the action.
The show was paired with a delicious four-course feast served medieval-style—without too many utensils! The meal included warm garlic bread, seasoned potatoes, juicy roasted chicken, and tasty roasted vegetables. As a vegetarian, I appreciated that they had a delicious stew option just for me. We wrapped it all up with a sweet éclair dessert that everyone enjoyed.
The tournament itself was thrilling from start to finish. Between the jousting, sword fights, and moments of high drama, there was never a dull moment. The performers were amazing, and the energy in the arena was electric the entire time.
If you're looking for a unique and entertaining outing for family, friends, or even a work event, Medieval Times is a perfect choice. It’s a fun, immersive experience that creates memories for all ages. And if you're not in the Toronto area, the good news is that there are several other castle locations across North America to visit.
This is absolutely something to add to your must-do list in Toronto—or wherever the nearest castle may be!
